All courses in this 18 hour program will be COPE approved.  The meeting  will feature a variety of topics pertinent to primary care optometrists.  The program will be presented in an interactive format that is informative and free of commerical bias.


It includes 10 hours on Glaucoma as well as lectures on medical billing and coding, electrophysiology, macular degeneration, and more.  The presentations on glaucoma will include all aspects of properly diagnosing and managing glaucoma patients with an emphasis on the optometrist's role in this disease.

Pinakin Davey

Dr. Davey will provide a comprehensive guide to diagnosing the patient suspected of having glaucoma.  It will include a discussion of risk factors, ONH evaluation, OCT, and VF testing.  Dr. Davey will also discuss the optometrists' role in secondary glaucomas

Deepak Gupta

Dr. Gupta is course director for PSS EyeCare.  He will provide a complete update on managing glaucoma patients.  The bulk of this will be on making the decision to treat patients suspected of having glaucoma and the pharmacology of medical therapy.   It will include a discussion on the newest therapeutic agents in the management of glaucoma.  Dr. Gupta will also discuss briefly the surgical management of glaucoma.

Robert Rebello

Robert Rebello is president/CEO of Nteon, LLC.  He will give a two hour primer on medical coding and billing.  It will include a discussion of HIPAA, ICD-10 coding, and ways to avoid and survive audits.

Nathan Lighthizer

Dr. Lighthizer is a professor at the optometry school in Oklahoma.  He will present a one hour program on ERG and how optometrists can integrate this technology into their offices to better help their patients.  Dr. Lighthizer will also present a hour lecture on the use of lasers such as SLT and ALT in glaucoma by optometrists.
